Once Upon a Time III

Here I am again joining another challenge.  A. and A. are also participating and they seem really excited so what could I do except join the adventure. ;-) Fantasy is one of my favorite genres and this seems again the perfect opportunity to make a dent in my huge TBR pile and finally get my hand in some of those books I’ve been promising to myself that I should read as quick as possible.

Once Upon a Time III is organized by Carl and started already the 21st March and will end the 30th June. You can check the rules and different reading options here.

Read at least 5 books that fit somewhere within the Once Upon a Time III criteria. They might all be fantasy, or folklore, or fairy tales, or mythology…or your five books might be a combination from the four genres.

  1. Magic to the Bone by Devon Monk
  2. The Serpent and the Rose by Kathleen Bryan
  3. Curse of the Chalion by Lois Bujold
  4. Magic Strikes by Ilona Adrews
  5. Kushiel’s Dart by Jaqueline Carey

And I’m adding 3 books in case I’m in the mood to read something else:

  1. The King of Sword and Sky by C. L. Wilson
  2. Crown Duel by Sherwood Smith
  3. The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks

Can’t wait to start!

Thank you so much, Carl for organizing such an exciting challenge. :)

  1. Those titles sound really interesting. I’m looking forward to see your reviews. I also have the CL Wilson in the TBR pile and I think I’m going to read it as part of the challenge.

  2. Thank you so much for joining in! I think I said this of A’s blog as well, but I love your header. I really enjoy this style of art and seeing it used in blog headers this way is really cool. I hope you do indeed enjoy the adventure.

  3. And how funny, I looked over to your sidebar and saw under “watching” exactly the thing we will be watching tonight: Vicar of Dibley A Holy Wholly Happy Ending. Absolutely love that show and I just bought this for my wife for her birthday and we are checking it out tonight.

  4. Ana,

I’m reading the C. L. Wilson more at the end of the challenge. I really don’t want to wait too long between this book and the final one. :)

    Carl,

Thank you so much for your kind words and also for visiting. ;-)
That’s too funny! Can I just say what a perfect gift you gave to your wife. These two final episodes always crack me up. I can watch them over and over and they work every time. Did you both like it?
